Barish Arduch

Barış Arduç^[2] (born 1987) is a Turkish television and film actor and director. In addition, to being a two-time award winner at the Golden Butterfly TV Awards (2015 and 2016), he had the Sadri Family Theater and Cinema Awards. He has won “Best Actor” awards from many universities, as well as from educational and public institutions. Since May 2016, he is also a Goodwill Ambassador for the Life Without Cancer Society of Turkey. In March 2017, he won the GQ Turkey award "Men of the year 2016".

Life & Career

1987–2005: Early Life

Barış Arduç was born in Switzerland on 9 October 1987^[3] to a family of Albanian immigrants, including his father, Erol Arduç, and his mother, Gülay Arduç. He has two siblings. His older brother, Onur Arduç,^[4][5] was engaged in May 2016 at Istanbul, and married on August 28, 2016 at Bolu.^[6] His younger brother, Mert Arduç, is single.^[5][7] At the age of 8, Barış Arduç moved to Turkey with his whole family.

Arduç completed his primary and secondary education in Turkey. In 1998, he finished first grade at a primary school in Sakarya. He was forced to move to Bolu after the 1999 İzmit earthquake. He was a student at the middle school and began high school in Bolu. Later, his family moved to Üsküdar, where he graduated from high school in 2005. After graduating from high school, he won an education grant and enrolled in Kayseri Erciyes University Sports Academy.^[9]

Starting in his childhood, he participated in various sports activities such as swimming, diving, football, basketball, handball, and kayaking. In May 2016, he started taking a boxing class^[10] at EFSANE boxing studio, and became an active member at BVJIN, a fight club.^[11] He also rides bicycles and motorcycles. In April 2016, he started learning how to sail. Since November 2016, he is active to practicing in shooting. In May 2017, Baris received Blue Belt on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

He speaks four languages: Turkish, English, Italian, and Albanian.

2005–2011: Early Career

Arduç's first job was as a lifeguard at "BEYKOZ SUALTI SPOR KLB. BEYKOZ" for 8 years (2005–2013) at Şile, Istanbul, Turkey.^[12][13]

He attended acting training courses in 2007-2009 in Istanbul, Turkey,^[14] and completed his theatrical education at Sadri Family Theatre.^[15] In 2009, he became a professional actor after meeting with Ayla Algan.

2011–2015: First Acting Roles

Arduç began acting in television shows in 2011. His first three, all in 2011, were First Little Lady (Küçük Hanımefendi),^[16] Listen Dear (Dinle Sevgili),^[17] and The Dirty Seven (Pis Yedili).^[18] He also appeared in Do Not Worry about Me (Benim İçin Üzülme)^[19] in 2012, Today's Jester (Bugünün Saraylısı)^[20] from 2013 to 2014, and Racon: For My Family (Racon: Ailem İçin)^[21] in 2015. He began starring in movies in 2014, with Sadece Sen^[22] and Deliha.^[23]

2015-2017: First Starring Role

On June 19, 2015, Arduç was given a starring role in the Turkish TV series Rental Love (Kiralık Aşk)^[24] on the Turkish channel Star TV^[25][26] as the character Ömer İplikçi.^[27] Kiralık Aşk was named The Best Romantic - Comedy TV Series of 2015 by GECCE magazine,^[28][29] and took 5th place in the "Best Turkish TV Series of 2015" award.^[30] The first season of Kiralık Aşk ended on June 24, 2016.

In June 2016, Star TV in Turkey decided to broadcast a second season, beginning on 23 September 2016.^[31] On December 25, 2016, Star TV officially announced the unplanned termination of Kiralık Aşk, with its last episode airing on January 20, 2017.

On January 23, 2017, at an interview with the magazine GQ Türkiye, Barış Arduç claimed that he had finished a movie script. He announced that in the summer of 2017, as a director and writer, he would be planning to make a movie.^[32] Unofficially, Arduç signed a 2-year contract with StarTV for a new project, starting in the early fall of 2017.

Barış Arduç has acted in television advertisements and commercials, including an advertisement for Derimod Shoes in 2015.^[33] Arduç's Instagram page has 4.1 million followers, as of July 2017.^[34]

Activism

2015

On September 19, 2015, Arduç participated in Charity Marathon Angels for Sport, in support of children with cancer. On December 20, 2015, Arduç participated in a charity night concert on TEGV found (Turkish Found of educational volunteers), where he sang the old Turkish song "Nayino". During the live translations, 123,000 donors supported actors by SMS. By the end of the concert, the fund had raised 80,000 Turkish lira.

On December 2015, Arduç supported a project for stray dogs.

Arduç is active in charity and supports children at Turkish Cancer Centers: "Kansersiz Yaşam Derneği" ("Life Without Cancer Society").^[35][36]

2016

On March 29, 2016, during 3 days, Arduç was an active participant in the Charity Market Festival in Istanbul.

In May 2016, Barış Arduç received an award from the "Kansersiz Yaşam Derneği" ("Life Without Cancer Society") as a Goodwill Ambassador.^[37][38][39]

On December 30, 2016, Kansersiz Yasam provided holiday meals for 300 children in Ethiopia. ^[41]

2017

On February 18, 2017, the Arduç's foundation supported the Fashion Performance Special children with a Star, together with other Turkish actors and actresses.
