Bangladesh–Palestine relations refer to the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Palestine.
History
In 1974 Yasser Arafat met Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Lahore on the occasion of the Organization of Islamic Conference meeting.[1] Bangladesh is supportive of the Palestinian state drawn on the 1967 boundary with Jerusalem as the capital.[2] Bangladesh offers scholarship for Palestinian students in medical colleges in Bangladesh and Palestinian army officers are provided training in Bangladeshi military facilities.[3]
In December 2016 Bangladesh signed memorandum of understanding with Palestine on trade and energy cooperation.[4] Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas visited Dhaka in 1 February 2017.[5] There is a Palestinian embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh.[6] Bangladesh does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.[7] Yousuf S Ramadan is the incumbent Palestinian Chargé d'Affaires in Dhaka.[8]
