Banauli Donauli is a village development committee in Mahottari District in the Janakpur Zone of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3966 people living in 711 individual households.[1] It is very near Thakurpati and Jankpurdham city

The birth place of Vidyapati is in the southern area of this village. Vidyapati is popular, because it is believed that 500 years ago Lord Shiva came and stayed with him as a servant. There are many songs in Maithili related to this
