Badgerloop

Badgerloop is a SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition Team from University of Wisconsin-Madison. It was founded during the summer of 2015 by two Mechanical Engineering majors. Currently Badgerloop consists of 50 primary undergraduate students under the leadership of Zuf Wang, Vaughn Kottler, Max Henry, and Johnny Kohlbeck.

Badgerloop placed third during Design Weekend at Texas A&M in January 2016 out of ~120 teams. The team then traveled to SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, CA to compete with 27 other international finalists during January 2017. Badgerloop took home one of two Innovation Awards; the other Innovation Award went to rLoop. The team's pod number 1 utilized Halbach Wheel and Array as sources of propulsion and lift. The Halbach Wheel set up was pioneered by Dr. J. Bird from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005.

Currently the team is working diligently towards Competition II, alongside the 23 other international finalists.
