Bestie (Hangul: 베스티, stylized as BESTie) is a four-member South Korean girl group under YNB Entertainment. They made their official debut with "Pitapat" on July 11, 2013.
History
Pre-debut
Hyeyeon, UJi and Haeryung originally debuted in AB Entertainment's girl group EXID. With EXID, they released their debut single "Holla" ("Whoz That Girl"). The three members promoted with the group for about two months, then ultimately took their leave for personal reasons.[1][2] Member Haeryung started acting at a young age: her first roles were in the television series Sharp and Magic Kid Masuri at age 10.[3] In spring 2013, she played the role of Park Hyung-sik's girlfriend in the tvN drama Nine: Nine Time Travels.[4]
2013–Present: Debut with "Pitapat", Hot Baby and Love Emotion
Bestie debuted on July 11, 2013, with the release of "Pitapat". The song's accompanying music video starred Jo Kwon and Yoo Se-yoon. The group held their debut live performance on KBS Music Bank on July 12.[5] On October 16, Bestie returned with their second single album "Love Options" (연애의 조건), with a music video;[6] their comeback stage was held the same day on Mnet's M! Countdown.[7]
On December 12, it was announced that Bestie would be releasing "Zzang Christmas", a Christmas themed digital single, on December 17.[8]
On February 28, 2014, Bestie's fourth single album, "Thank U Very Much", was digitally released, along with an accompanying music video.[9][10]
On June 27, Bestie, together with AOA's Jimin, Choa, Chanmi and Hyejeong, and Girl's Day, covered a special performance of Girls' Generation's "Mr.Mr." on Music Bank.[11] On July 11, Bestie released a fifth digital single entitled "Like a Star", as a celebration for their one-year anniversary.[12]
Their first mini album Hot Baby was released on July 28.[13] Three days later, the official music video was released. On August 29, the group released a digital repackaged mini album with a new track "I Need You" produced by Duble Sidekick and HomeBoy. Thanking fans for the success of Hot Baby, Bestie performed "I Need You" on M! Countdown a day before the song's digital release.[14][15]
On December 19, Bestie covered Super Junior's "Mamacita" on Music Bank as a year end performance.[16]
On May 8, 2015, Bestie released their 2nd mini-album "Love Emotion" and released a music video for their title track "Excuse Me". In just over 1 Month after its release, their Music Video, "Excuse Me" reached 2 Million views, being their most viewed Music Video in comparison to how long the Music Video was released for. Their Music Video for "Excuse Me" ranked 4th on the Billboard's "Most Viewed K-Pop Videos in America" for the month of May, and ranked 6th on the Billboard's "Most Viewed K-Pop Videos around the World" for the month of may. On June 2, Bestie received 4th Place on Music Program, "The Show".
On August 29, 2015, BESTie was a part of the 2015 Feel Korea in New Delhi tour in India, performing at New Delhi's Sirifort Auditorium.[17]
Members

However, the group was never formed, making UJi leave JYP Entertainment. She was a former member of EXID, but, like Hyeyeon, left shortly after debut to finish her studies.
