BCDF Pictures
BCDF Pictures is a film production company based in New York, Los Angeles, and France.[1] BCDF's first movie, Higher Ground, premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.[2] BCDF’s second movie, Peace, Love & Misunderstanding, premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.[3]
BCDF has premiered three more films at Sundance— Bachelorette, Liberal Arts, and Why Stop Now.[4][5][6] Bachelorette was particularly successful, becoming the first multi-platform film to hit #1 on iTunes.[7] The movie eventually grossed $12 million in theaters worldwide[8] and more than $8 million more on VOD.[9]
BCDF's projects have included Oscar-winning and Oscar-nominated actors (e.g. Jesse Eisenberg, Jane Fonda, Vera Farmiga, John Hawkes, Catherine Keener, Melissa Leo) and other notable actors such as Kirsten Dunst, Elizabeth Olsen, Isla Fisher, and Zac Efron.[10]
In the spring of 2016, BCDF began production on Dabka, starring Evan Peters, Al Pacino, Barkhad Abdi, and Melanie Griffith.[11] The movie was shot in New York and South Africa,[11] and will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017.[12] BCDF’s high school comedy The Outcasts is set for theatrical release on April 14, 2017.[13]
BCDF's movie Departures, starring Asa Butterfield, Maisie Williams, Nina Dobrev, and Tyler Hoechlin, will start production in New York in April 2017.[14] Their film Lapham Rising, based on the bestselling novel by Roger Rosenblatt and starring Frank Langella, will also shoot in spring 2017.[15]
