The Azimabad Superfast Express is a superfast train running between two capital city of Gujarat in Ahmedabad and Bihar in Patna. "Azimabad" was old name of patna city during later Mughal period.
Service
It operates as train number 12947 from Ahmedabad Junction to Patna Junction and as train number 12948 in the reverse direction serving the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Bihar. The train covers the distance of 1,773 km (1,102 mi) in 30 hours approximately at a speed of (57 km/h (35 mph)).
As the average speed of the train is above 55 km/h (34 mph), as per Indian Railway rules, its fare includes a Superfast surcharge.

Routeing
The 12947/48 Azimabad Superfast Express runs from Ahmedabad Junction via Vadodara Junction, Ratlam Junction, Sawai Madhopur Junction, Agra Fort, Kanpur Central, Allahabad Junction, Mughalsarai Junction to Patna Junction.[2]
