The Ayers-Allen House is a historic home in Metuchen, Middlesex County, New Jersey. The house was listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and National Register of Historic Places in 1985.[1][2] The 1740 building, also known as Allen House Tavern,[1] for its previous function,[3] was built by descendents of early settlers to Woodbridge Township and remained in the family for many generations. It is located yards from the site of American Revolutionary War skirmishes. It is believed to have been a stop on the Underground Railroad and to be haunted.[4][5]
