Located within Floyd Bennett Field, Aviator Sports and Events Center is an authorized Concessionaire of the National Park Service and New York’s largest sports and events center. Aviator has refurbished four historic aircraft hangars and surrounding grounds in partnership with the NPS. The area includes 175,000 square feet of indoor sports and event space along with adjoining outdoor turf fields and free parking for 2,000 cars. Aviator provides a wide variety of sports leagues and activities, including, camps, birthday parties, field trips, ice skating, hockey, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, soccer and more.

The NPS and Aviator began their relationship in 2003. By combining Floyd Bennett Field’s original hangars they created one of the largest sports complexes in the country. History buffs will revel in the knowledge that Floyd Bennett Field’s past has been well preserved by the National Park Service which maintains a collection of its historic aircraft on display in a 1950s era nose hangar.

Programs

Aviator Sports and Events Center hosts a diverse array of programs to accommodate a wide range of interests for users of all ages. Aviator provides a wide variety of sports leagues and activities, including camps, birthday parties, field trips, ice skating, hockey, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, soccer and more.[2]

Events

Since 2011, Aviator Sports and Events Center has become one of New York City's most prominent locations for obstacle races and fun runs. Events that have taken place through a rental agreement include: Spartan Race, Rugged Maniac, The Color Run, Color Mob 5k, Illuminite Run, Electric Run, Run For Your Lives (obstacle racing), Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge (R.O.C.) Race, Tomato Battle, Civilian Military Combine and more.[3]
