Austroargiolestes alpinus is a species of Australian damselfly in the family Megapodagrionidae,[2] commonly known as a New England flatwing.[3] It is endemic to north-eastern New South Wales, where it inhabits streams and bogs.[4]

Austroargiolestes alpinus is a large, black and pale blue damselfly, without pruinescence.[3] Like other members of the Megapodagrionidae family it rests with its wings outspread.[5]

Austroargiolestes alpinus is similar in appearance to Austroargiolestes brookhousei.[3]
