Austin Stark (born May 31, 1979) is an American film producer, writer, and director. He is one of the founding partners of Paper Street Films, a film production and finance company based in New York City.[1][2]
Career
He began his career working with Academy Award winning producer Martin Richards (Chicago).[3]
His movie credits as a producer include:
- Infinitely Polar Bear (2015), starring Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana;[4]
- Hello I Must Be Going (2012), nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival;[5]
- Tony Kaye's Detachment (2011), starring Adrien Brody;[6] Happythankyoumoreplease (2010), winner of the Audience Award at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival;[7]
- Werner Herzog's My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done? (2009);[8]
- Peter and Vandy (2009), nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.[9][10]
Stark made his writing and directorial debut with The Runner (2015),[11] a political drama that follows a Louisiana congressman in the aftermath of the 2010 BP Oil Spill.[12] The movie stars Nicolas Cage,[13] Sarah Paulson,[14] Connie Nielsen, and Peter Fonda.[15] It was released in select theaters nationwide on August 7, 2015 by Alchemy.[16] [17][18][19]
