History
Auriga was founded on December 29, 1990, by Dr. Alexis Sukharev, a professor of the Moscow State University, in Moscow, Russia.[7] Named Infort initially, the company was later rebranded as Auriga.[7] In 1993, Auriga Inc. was incorporated in the U.S.[2][7]
Since the day of its foundation the company has been designed to deliver offshore and nearshore software outsourcing projects for customers worldwide. Auriga's first project was to design and implement a database application for Hewlett-Packard to track contracts with outside consulting companies and independent contractors for several HP entities, monitor the completion time and project status, and generate reports on the financial status for the projects.[7] As a result, Auriga gained the status of Hewlett-Packard's exclusive Business Partner for Moscow and Moscow Region within the Packard Initiative.[7]
In 1991–1992, Auriga launched the first offshore project for ADE Corp. in Statistical Process Control and Quality Assurance and the first offshore system programming projects in real-time area for Aquila Technologies Group, Inc. and Encore, Inc.[7] In 1995–1996, Auriga launched the first projects for Interleaf, Inc. (in 2000, Interleaf, Inc. became a Division of BroadVision, Inc.) and Lynx RTS, Inc. (in 2000, renamed LynuxWorks, Inc.; in 2014, renamed Lynx Software Technologies, Inc.).[8] Both companies remain Auriga's clients even today.
