Atul Kumar

Prof. Atul Kumar, a synthetic organic chemist, is Professor/Sr. Principal Scientist at Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research(AcSIR) Central Drug Research institute (CSIR-CDRI) at Lucknow, India. The Government of India awarded him the civilian honour of Padma Shri in 2007.[1]

Academic work

Kumar has about 24 years experience in drug design and medicinal chemistry [2]

Kumar's most cited work has been on the synthesis of polyhydroquinoline derivatives. His papers on Synthesis of polyhydroquinoline derivatives through unsymmetric Hantzsch reactions [3] and [4] have been cited 195 and 94 times respectively. [5]

Dr Atul Kumar is an recipient of Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) OPPI Scientist Award. He is a member of the Global Advisory committee of SciFinder –Chemical Abastracts Services (CAS) A division of the American Chemical Society(ACS). He is the author of over 90 research papers and 45 Patents.[2]
