Assyrian Universal Alliance (Syriac: ܚܘܝܕܐ ܬܒ̣ܝܠܝܐ ܐܬܘܪܝܐ, Arabic: الاتحاد الأشوري العالمي; Persian: اتحادیه جهانی آشوریها) is an ethnic Assyrian umbrella organization in the Middle East. The Assyrian Universal Alliance is an international alliance made up of different sectors of the Assyrian federations and organisations throughout the world.[1] Mr. Yonathan Betkolia,[2] an Iranian Assyrian, is now serving the Secretary-General.

History

In 1968, the Assyrian Universal Alliance was created as a worldwide organisation seeking to spread, uphold and enhance the Assyrian name in the world, to secure the human rights of the Assyrian people in their homeland and to attain an autonomous state in the Assyrian ancestral homeland.

UNPO

In 1991, the Assyrian Universal Alliance became a Member of the UNPO, Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization.[3]
