Asphodelus aestivus, the summer asphodel, is a species of asphodel. Its distribution is disputed.[1] Some sources state that it only occurs in Portugal and Spain.[2] Others suggest a wider distribution including Italy, Croatia, Greece and North Africa. Confusion over the nomenclature of the species is possible.[1] It grows in dry grasslands and on rocky or sandy ground.[1]
