Ashutosh (born 1965) is a former Indian TV journalist, turned politician of the Aam Aadmi Party. He is the spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party. He was previously associated with IBN7, of TV18 group, as Managing Editor.[1] He contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chandni Chowk against Kapil Sibal of Congress and Harsh Vardhan of the BJP.[2] He garnered more votes than Kapil Sibal of the Congress, but lost out to Dr Harsh Vardhan of the BJP.
Early life and education
Ashutosh was born as Ashutosh Gupta in 1965 in Varanasi, where his father was an income tax officer. He graduated in science from Allahabad University. He earned an M. Phil. (Soviet Studies) and M.A. (Philosophy & International Studies) from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi.[3] In 1988, Ashutosh was amongst the few who took the TOEFL exam in Devnagri script. Ashutosh reportedly dropped his last name for political reasons.
Books
Ashutosh has written a book on Anna Hazare's August 2011 movement, against Corruption. The book is titled Anna: 13 Days That Awakened India. A new book named 'Mukhote Ka Rajdharm' was released on 17 February 2015.
