Ashok Alexander
Ashok Alexander is the Founder-Director of The Antara Foundation. He set up the India operations of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation[1] and led the India country office of the Foundation for 10 years between 2003 and 2012.[2] During this time, the Foundation set up Avahan program, a large HIV/AIDS prevention model.[3] At McKinsey, he was a Director and was part of the team that set up the firm's India practice.
Ashok has been educated at Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College, the Delhi School of Economics and the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad. He is also a member of the Governing Body of the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and a founding trustee of the America-India Foundation. Previously, he was a Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH).
A man of many interests, he is passionate about his chess and is an avid artist.
