Arroyo Elementary School is located in Santa Ana, California]], United States. It is a part of the Tustin Unified School District. It serves kindergarten through fifth grade. Its sports teams are known as the Mustangs.
It was originally built in 1965, and expanded in later years.[3]
Awards and recognition
For the 1989-1990 school year, and the 2007-2008 school year, Arroyo Elementary School was recognized with the Blue Ribbon Award from the United States Department of Education,[4][5] the highest honor that an American school can achieve.[6]
Arroyo Elementary School was designated as a California Distinguished School for the 2006 school year, awarded by the California State Board of Education to public schools that best represent exemplary and quality educational programs.[7]

The school has a total of 552 students as of 2008, of whom 52% are male and 48% are female. 1% are eligible for reduced price lunches. 83% of the students are Caucasian, 7% are Asian, 6% are Hispanic, 2% are of mixed or unknown race, 1% are African-American, and 1% are Native Americans.
