The Archbishop Porter Girls' Secondary School is a female second cycle institution in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.A.P.G.S.S. is a catholic institution within the Ghana Public Education System.While we welcome girls of all religious denominations.The school is sited on a hill in Fijai, Takoradi, in the Western Region of Ghana and it has come to be known as "the hill of tranquility" for its peaceful and serene academic atmosphere .A.P.G.S.S. is the Pride of the West.
History
The school was established in 1965.
Vision
The vision of the school is"The school shall be a haven for academic and moral excellence".
Mission
The school was established in 1965 by His Grace John Kwadjo Amissah of blessed memory, to give "exquisite education to Ghanaian future christian mothers, a matchless education that will exhibit elegance and perfection in finish".
Achievements
- In 2007 the school won the Western regional round of the i2CAP-"I Too Can Program" computer programming competition.[1]
- In 2011 the school was adjudged the best school in the western region based on the results of the West African Examination Council
