Antechiniscus is a genus of tardigrades in the family Echiniscidae[1] The genus are one of four being the ninth oldest in the family Echiniscidae and was one of four genera named and described by Reinhardt Møbjerg Kristensen in 1987. Its etymology is from the Greek anti- (αντί-) against and Echiniscus, literally non-Echiniscus.

According to Degma, Bertolani et Guidetti (2013),[1] this genus includes six species:
- Antechiniscus conversus (Horning & Schuster, 1983)
- Antechiniscus jermani Rossi & Claps, 1989
- Antechiniscus lateromamillatus (Ramazzotti, 1964)
- Antechiniscus moscali Claxton, 2001
- Antechiniscus parvisentus (Horning & Schuster, 1983)
- Antechiniscus perplexus (Horning & Schuster, 1983)
