Antarctoneptunea is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Buccinidae, the true whelks.[1][2][3]

Distribution

Antatctonetpunea marine snails occur in the Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica, particularly in the Ross Sea.[1][4][2]

Evolution

Molecular phylogenetic trees based on mitochondrial genomic and nuclear ribosomal DNA sequence data indicate that Antarctoneptunea is closely related to the Northern Hemisphere genus Kelletia, and Penion siphon whelks found in New Zealand and Australia.[2]
