Anna De Weert or Anna Cogen; Anna Virginie Caroline De Weert (27 May, 1867 – 12 May, 1950) was a Belgian painter.
Life
Weert was born in Ghent as Anna Virginie Caroline Cogan. Her grandfather was Karel Lodewijk Ledeganck and her uncles, Alphons Cogen and Felix Cogen, were painters.[1]
In the 1890s she was a private (pro bono) student of the French painter Emile Claus. She and her husband Maurice De Weert, would spent summers with him in the 1890s.[2]
Weert was a productive artist.[3] had a long association with Cercle Artistique et Littéraire in her home town after she exhibited there first in 1895.[1] She died in Ghent in 1950.
