Anita Margaret Frew (born 24 June 1957) is a Scottish businessperson and Chairman of Croda.[1]

Early life

Born in Scotland, she is the daughter of a Supermarine Spitfire pilot, and youngest of three daughters.[2] Frew was educated at an all-girls convent in Norwich (Sacred Heart of Jesus),[2] before graduating from University of Strathclyde.[3]

Career

On graduation she joined Royal Bank of Scotland,[2] before moving to Scottish Provident where she served as Head of UK Investment.[4] Frew then became Director of Corporate Development at WPP plc.[4]

She progressed to become a non-executive director of various commercial organisations including WPP plc and Northumbrian Water as well as Non-Executive Chairman of Victrex[5] and pro bono non-executive director roles in various artistic organisations, including the Donmar Warehouse and the Gate Theatre.[3]

She stood down as Non-Executive Chairman of Victrex in October 2014 to take the Chairman of the Board role at Croda in September 2015

Personal life

Frew has one son, who is a diplomat.[2]
