Angela Robinson (born August 5, 1963) is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Beverly Cramer on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live. In 2013, she began playing the role of Veronica Harrington in the Oprah Winfrey Network primetime soap opera, The Haves and the Have Nots.

Life and career

Robinson was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida.[1] She graduated from William M. Raines High School in Jacksonville and Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida.[1] While in college, she won the crown of Miss Florida A&M University.[2] She moved to New York City in 1992 and began acting career on the stage, appearing on Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.[3][4] On Broadway, she performed in The Color Purple as Shug Avery, and later appeared in the national touring production.[1] Robinson also performed on the national tours of Dreamgirls and The Wizard of Oz.[3] On television, she appeared in the episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2005.[3]

In 2013, Robinson began starring as Veronica Harrington in the Oprah Winfrey Network primetime soap opera, The Haves and the Have Nots produced by Tyler Perry.[5] In 2015, she received Gracie Award for Outstanding Female Actor- One to Watch.[6][7]
