Andrew Maxwell Morris

Andrew Maxwell Morris is a musician and composer from England.

Often performing as a solo artist he also has a backing band. His band comprises drummer Phillipe Castermane, Bassist Daniel Seddon, pedal steel guitar player Steve Honest (who appeared on Culture Club's album Don't Mind If I Do and Kathryn Williams' album Over Fly Over).

He has won the Playmusic Award in 2008 and is endorsed by Elixir Strings.

He is also a film and television composer and has composed production music for Imagem Production Music that has been placed across the ITV channels, channel 4 and Sky Sports.

His song "100 Reasons" was placed by Vodafone in a television advertising campaign for 4G in March 2014 which will run for approximately 1 year[1]

Supporting tours

Through his association with Dave Meegan Andrew has supported the rock band Marillion on two separate tours. Most notably a UK national tour in February 2009 and at the Marillion Convention from 20–23 March 2009 in Zeebruke, Holland.[2] He has also supported[3] the blues guitarist Peter Green with his band Peter Green and Friends on his national UK tour in December 2009 and February/March 2010.

He has also supported[4] Ella Edmonson, the daughter of the comic actor Ade Edmonsonon a date on her recent UK national tour.

He has performed at Glastonbury 2008 and is due to perform at Glastonbury Festival 2010 on the Queens Head stage and the Green Fields . He has performed at Redfest in 2009 and Guilfest in 2009 and 2010.

Releases

Andrew has released two EP's under the label Moz Records. The first EP Upside Down comprises 6 songs that were recorded with Stuart Anning, a composer and Drummer who has performed with Amy Winehouse and Ben's Brother.

Dust a song from this EP is featured on the soundtrack to the extreme sports New Zealand Documentary Film[5]Last Paradise directed by Clive Neeson, due for general release in summer 2010. Dust is also featured in the current Thatchers Cider television commercial on ITV1 entitled 'People who care about cider'.

Dust is currently published by the international publishing house Boosey and Hawkes. Andrew has worked with record producer Dave Meegan on other production music for Imagem Production Music.

Andrew's second EP[6]'Longbeach' released in April 2009 was recorded and Mixed by Steve Honest, who played pedal steel guitar on the song 'Innocent'. LongbeachEP was rated 8 out of 10[7] by Americana UK and was included in the Americana UK best of 2009[8]

One of Andrew's forthcoming live releases from the Union Chapel on 22 March 2010 was mixed by the record producer Dave Meegan who produced several albums with Marillion and was notably involved in the recording of The Joshua Tree by U2.

Andrew is due to release his debut album Well Tread Roads on Monday 5 May 2014. This was largely self-produced and mixed by Jordan Critz.

Andrew recently made an appearance on Loaded TV s The Song Circle.

Personal life

A part of Andrew's life that has been widely documented[9] is that he is a practising solicitor-advocate in the Crown Courts of England and Wales.[10] He has travelled and lived in several different countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji, Australia, OMan and Saudi Arabia, and his travelling is the frequent subject of his songwriting.
