Biography

Inspired by Nickelodeon animated TV show The Backyardigans, she decided at age 3 that she wanted to travel to Mars.[1]

Supporting her aspiration, her father Bert Carson enrolled her in United States Space Camp in 2008.[2] She returned to Space Camp several times in the following years and also attended Space Camp in Laval, Quebec and in Izmir, Turkey.[1] She became the first person to visit all three NASA Space Camps.[3]

In 2013, Carson was the first person to complete the NASA Passport Program by going to all 14 NASA Visitor Centers in the USA.[4] She is an ambassador for the Mars One private spaceflight project.[5]

In 2014, Carson appeared on Steve Harvey and was honored as their youngest Female Groundbreaker.[6] She has also featured in other media around the world including BBC,[7] CBS,[2] Independent,[8] NBC Nightly News,[9] and Australian Daily Telegraph.[10]

As of October 2016, Carson is the youngest person to be accepted to the Advanced Possum Academy.[11] Carson lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her father.[12] As of 2017 Carson attends Baton Rouge International High School and studies Chinese, English, French and Spanish.[3][13]
