Alton (2006 pop.: 1,906)[1] is a rural community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Colchester County. Alton is the location of a natural gas storage facility currently under construction from salt caverns.[2] Coordinates: 45°11′1.87″N 63°18′5.42″W / 45.1838528°N 63.3015056°W
