Allopeas gracile, common name the graceful awlsnail,[1] is a species of small, tropical, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Subulinidae.
Distribution
Allopeas gracile occurs throughout the (sub)tropics worldwide.[2]
- Hawaii & islands of Polynesia (naturalized)[3]
- West Indies[2]
- southern Mexico[2]
- Central and South America[2]
- Dominica - introduced.[2] First reported in 2009.[2]
- Tanzania[4]
It is also found living in greenhouses in other areas, as a "hothouse exotic".
