Allen/Lande or Allen-Lande is an international hard rock/ heavy metal supergroup formed in 2005 by Italian record company Frontiers. Although the band was originally from Italy, none of the band members are Italian. It takes its name from its two singers, Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen and former Masterplan vocalist Jørn Lande.[1]

The project started with Swedish guitarist Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Starbreaker, Last Tribe) as producer, main instrumentalist and songwriter.[2][3] Together with drummer Jaime Salazar, the quatuor released three albums: The Battle (2005), The Revenge (2007), and The Showdown (2010).

In 2013, Timo Tolkki (ex-Stratovarius) and Jami Huovinen replaced Karlsson and Salazar, leading to the album The Great Divide (2014).

History

On March 2013, Jørn Lande announced in an interview that a new Allen/Lande album was in the works but this time with songwriting and production made by former Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki. On 24 July 2013, Timo Tolkki also confirmed the role in the project via his Facebook page.[4] The album was officially confirmed on 9 July 2014, with the title The Great Divide. It was released on 17 October in Europe and 21 October 2014 in North America. This time, Jørn Lande has also contributed with some vocal melodies and lyrics to the album.[5] [6]
