Alfred Tinkler (1887 – 2 April 1950) was an English professional footballer from Manchester who played as a centre half.

Tinkler made more than 100 appearances in all competitions for Second Division club Birmingham over four years.[1] He also played in the Football League for Derby County,[3] and in non-League football for Ilkeston United, in two spells,[1][4] and Heanor United.[1]

Tinkler later resided in Croydon. He died at St James' Hospital, Balham, in 1950.[2]
