Alexandar Georgiyevich Georgiyev (Russian: Александр Георгиевич Георгиев; born 10 February 1996) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently playing under contract as a prospect to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Georgiyev made his Liiga debut playing with HC TPS during the 2014–15 Liiga season.[1] Despite two standout seasons with TPS showing developmental promise, Georgiyev went undrafted through the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. With an ambition to play in North America, Georgiyev was invited to participate in the New York Rangers prospect camp. In impressing through his performances, on July 18, 2017, he agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Rangers.[2]
