Alex Rose (born 17 November 1991) is a Samoan athlete competing primarily in the discus throw and occasionally in the shot put and hammer throw.[2] He represented his country at two World Championships, in 2013[3] and 2015,[4] failing to qualify for the final on both occasions. He also represented Samoa at the 2016 Olympics.[5] He has had success at the Oceania Athletics Championships, with eight gold medals in three different throwing events.
Although born in the United States, Rose holds dual-citizenship with Samoa since his father was born in that country and emigrated to the US as a 19-year-old.[6] He threw for Central Michigan University.[1]
His personal best in the discus is 65.74 metres (Claremont, California, 15 May 2016).
