Alderson Broaddus University Spirit Squads
The Alderson Broaddus University Battler Band, informally known as the Battler Band, formed in 2012. It is the largest student spirit group on campus. The band performs halftime shows at all home football games and select away football games. In 2016, the Battler Band became known as "The Pride of the Mountaintop".[1]

Alderson Broaddus University Color Guard and Majorettes
History
The Alderson Broaddus University Color Guard and Majorettes, known as the Battlerettes, formed in 2012 along with the marching band. The color guard and majorettes perform halftime shows at home football games with the band, select away football games with the band, and select home basketball games. The color guard and majorettes add a visual effect to halftime performances. Many individual members of the group participate in solo performances at competitions while representing Alderson Broaddus.[2]
Alderson Broaddus University Cheer and Dance Team
The Alderson Broaddus University Cheer and Dance Team is a co-ed varsity program. The team maintains an energetic presence at all home football games, select away football games, home basketball games, and other sporting events throughout the year. In the spring, the team competes collegiate cheer and dance competitions.[3] In 2016, the cheer and dance team won first place in their Open Pom division at the Cheersport National Competition.[4]
