Albert Luvian Wade (died on 28 April 1917, aged 32.) was a Scottish rugby union player. He was killed in World War I^[2]

Early life

Albert Wade was born on 20 September 1884 in Glasgow. He attended Dulwich College, where he captained the First XV.^[3]

Rugby union career

He played for London Scottish FC and was capped for Scotland on 21 March 1908,^[2] at Inverleith in the Scotland vs England match which was won by Scotland.

Military Service

Wade was killed at Oppy Wood, near Arras on 28 April 1917, whilst serving as a Lieutenant in 17th Battalion, The Middlesex Regiment, on temporary attachment to a trench mortar battery. He was 32 years of age and has no known grave, being commemorated on the Arras Memorial.^[3]
