Akshay Pratap Singh or Gopalji (born 14 April 1970) is an Indian politician from Pratapgarh (Lok Sabha constituency) in Uttar Pradesh. He is a cousin and follower of the powerful politician Raja Bhaiya,[1] and won the seat in 2004 from Samajwadi Party.[2] However, he lost the Indian general elections, 2009 to Rajkumari (princess) Ratna Singh.[3]
Akshay Pratap Singh is facing several criminal cases, including one that is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation,[4] but he has not been convicted in any case because of his caste and his power.
