Akshara School is a secondary CBSE affiliated school located in NFCL Township, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1]

Shri. K. V. K. Raju, the founder of the Nagarjuna Group of Companies, established the Nagarjuna Educational Trust in 1990. The objective of the trust is to establish an educational institution of excellence and to promote value-based education. The school is managed by the Trust.

Akshara was started in 1991 in Gangavathi with merely 8 students in a rented premises


Akshara School was started on 2 July 1990 in a rented building with 42 children and 6 teachers. In the first year the school had classes from LKG to Std. IV. One class was added each year. In June 1995 it became a secondary school up to Std. IX. The school was shifted to the newly constructed building in NFCL Township on 16 December 1991. By October 1996 a second block, a dining hall, and an auditorium had been constructed.

The motto of the school is "Education for Enlightenment".

Academics

The academic year of the school is from June to April with short vacations: one in September/October and the other in December/January. The academic year is divided into three terms – June to September, October to December and January to April. School is in session for approximately 220 days each year. The medium of instruction is English.
