Akademichesky District (Russian: Академи́ческий райо́н, literally "academic district") is an administrative district (raion) of South-Western Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia.[2] The area of the district is 5.83 square kilometers (2.25 sq mi). Population - 96,172. The district contains lot of scientific organizations and research institutions. The streets in the district are named after famous scientists and engineers.
