Aho Cabinet

Esko Aho's cabinet was the 65th government of the Republic of Finland. The cabinet's time period was from 26 April 1991 to 13 April 1995.

The Aho Government started its term when Finland had its worst economic downfall and banking crisis. In 1992, the failed coup in Moscow ended the USSR and the Aho Government did not continue the Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance.

Finland joined the European Union in 1995 after a 1994 referendum. The Christian League left the Government because they opposed Finland to join the European Union.
