Ahmed Nabil Elalam is the president of the Libyan Olympic Committee.

Biography

Education

Academic career

He was a lecturer at the University of Tripoli, giving lectures on mechanical and industrial engineering.[1]

Sport career

Alam was the coach of the Libyan and Malaysian Judo Teams during the 1990s.[1] He also served as head of the Libyan Football Association during the reign of Muammar Gaddafi.[3] Mohammed Gaddafi was al-Alam's predecessor as Olympic Committee president.[3]

Kidnapping

Ahmad Nabil al-Alam was kidnapped on 15 July 2012 in central Tripoli, Libya.[4] He was freed on 22 July 2012, a week after he was taken from his car by gunmen in Tripoli.[5]
