Adivasidom : Selected Writings & Speeches Of Jaipal Singh Munda is a collection of the articles and speeches of Jaipal Singh Munda, a political campaigner for the Adivasis people of India and the first Olympic captain of the India men's national field hockey team.[1][2].

About the book

The leader of Adivasi Mahasabha and founder-president of India's first tribal political organisation, the Jharkhand Party, Jaipal Singh Munda wrote several articles during the agitation on tribal autonomy and Jharkhand Movement. Those articles and speeches were published in the 1940-50s in various newspapers and magazines.[3].

The book is compilation of such articles, edited by Ashwini Kumar Pankaj, an author and cultural activist for Adivasi affairs. Published by the Pyara Kerketta Foundation of Ranchi in Jharkhand, it contains 25 of Munda's articles and speeches, along with a chronology of events in his life.[4].

The word adivasidom means tribalism/ethnicity/indiginity/indigenism/aboriginality and in Hindi is adivasiyat. It has been claimed that Munda coined the word[5] and promoted its use in Indian politics.
