Adger L. Smith (1917 – August 6, 1991) was the last mayor of Eau Gallie, Florida from 1963 until its consolidation with Melbourne in 1969. He was also the first mayor of the consolidated city of Melbourne from 1969 to 1970.
Smith was born and raised in Eau Gallie.[2]
He inherited his family's well-drilling business, Adger Smith Wells Inc. which had been in operation since 1893.[1][2]
He was director of the Eau Gallie Chamber of Commerce from 1958 until its abolishment in 1966.[1] He became director of the Melbourne Chamber and served in that capacity for 16 years.[1]
He served on the boards of directors of five different banks.[1]
