Achal Kumar Jyoti is an Election Commissioner of India.[1] He is a retired I.A.S. Officer of 1975 batch from the Gujarat Cadre.

Career

Mr. Jyoti is a former Chief Secretary of Gujarat state.[1] He served as the Chairman of the Kandla Port Trust between 1999 and 2004 and Managing Director of the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd (SSNNL).After retiring as the chief secretary in January 2013, he was appointed as the State Vigilance Commissioner of Gujarat. He is appointed the next Chief Election Commissioner of India on 6th July 2017.
