Aayiram Poi (தமிழ்: ஆயிரம் பொய், English: Thousand Lies)[1] is a 1969 Tamil comedy - Drama film was directed by Muktha Srinivasan and Produced by M. Venu Gopal and V. Ramaswamy respectively. The film script were written by Cho. Music by V. Kumar assets to the film. The film starring Jaishankar, Vanisri, Cho and Manorama played lead roles to protagonist.[2][3]
The title of the movie Aayiram Poi means a 1000 lies in Tamil. Cho Ramaswamy famous novel Yaarukku Ivar Yaaro. An old Tamil saying goes like "its alright to tell a 1000 lies to make a marriage work" and this movie closely follows that old adage.
Plot
Chinna Durai(V. K. Ramaswamy) dislikes his brother-in-law, Kanagasabi(V. S. Raghavan) stands in the way of a marriage arrangement for his daughter Malathy(Vanisri) and Kanagasabi's son Ravi(Jaishankar). The film deals with how Ravi's resourcefulness helps him in getting Malathi's hand in marriage.
