Aaron Teroi (born 2 October 1995) is an Australian-born Cook Islands professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Newcastle Thunder in the Kingstone Press League 1. A Cook Islands international representative, he plays at halfback and hooker. Born and raise in Melbourne Aaron Teroi grew up playing Golf until the age of 10 when he was introduced to Rugby Union playing for Northcote Panthers where he found potential in the game of Rugby Union finding his way into many Repersentitive squads. After switching codes to Rugby League where he found his full potential making his way through Victorian representative sides, Melbourne storm NYC U 20s Competition 3 years, International Cook Island Rugby League & the Newcastle Thunder.
Background
Born in Melbourne, Victoria, Teroi played his junior rugby league for the Northern Thunder RLFC in Broadmeadows before being signed by the Melbourne Storm.[3]
Playing career
In 2012 and 2013, Teroi played for Melbourne's SG Ball Cup side.[4][5] In 2014 and 2015, Teroi played for Melbourne's NYC side, being awarded the Greg Brentnall Victorian Young Achievers award at the end of the 2015 season.[6]
In October 2015, Teroi made his international début for the Cook Islands in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup qualification Asia-Pacific play-off.[7]
In January 2016, Teroi joined the Newcastle Thunder in England's Kingstone Press League 1.[8]
