Aaron Pfenning
Aaron Pfenning (born 31 October 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and record producer who performs under the moniker "Rewards" since 2010,[1][2] a name he has used since 2003.[3]
Pfanning has toured with We Are Scientists, Brandon Flowers and Warpaint.[3]
Earlier career
In 2005 he co-founded the band Chairlift (band)[4][5] in Boulder, CO with his then girlfriend Caroline Polachek while still in college.[6][7] In 2006 Chairlift relocated to Brooklyn, NY where the final version of Does You Inspire You was written and produced, released on Columbia Records.[8][9][10]
Chairlift's song "Bruises" was used in an iPod Nano commercial.[11][12][13] Pfanning split from Chairlift in January 2010 while ending a tour in Australia[12][14][15] sometime after his romantic relationship with band co-founder Caroline Polachek ended. Leaving Chairlift meant leaving a major record label deal.[6]
