Critical reception
DVD Verdict found the DVD transfer acceptable, with "fine detail and considerable depth", and solid audio, but found the film itself to be trite and derivative, writing that poor performances, absurd character behavior and horrible-written dialogue made the film "a pretty wretched viewing experience".[1]
Movie Moxie writes that the film "has a very sweet spirit and whimsical nature to it, great for light holiday viewing". They note that Emmanuelle Vaugier is charismatic in the lead role and that Cynthia Gibb "is fabulous as the stone cold Samantha".[2]
Conversely, Movie City News wrote "Only fans of the cast members and made-for-cable rom-coms will find something interesting here, Iām afraid."[3]
