Electronic visa (evisa) to Azerbaijan

Foreign travellers must obtain a visa to travel to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan simplified electronic visa system for stateless persons and citizens of designated countries in January 2017.[1][2][3] The system is called ASAN Visa (evisa.gov.az) and the visas are issued for a single-entry visit up to 30 days.[1]

Steps for obtaining electronic visa (e-visa) to Azerbaijan

According to Presidential Decree on ASAN Visa,[4] foreign visitors may able to get evisa through following steps:

1) Applying to official government website www.evisa.gov.az.[1]

2) Submit information on passport, personal information and arrival date to the system of ASAN Visa and pay the state fee ($20) online.

3) E-visas will be issued to the email of the applicant within working 3 (three) days

The e-visa should be printed and presented together with the passport (that should be valid at least 3 months more than the validity period of the electronic visa) at the border checkpoint.The designated 93 countries are the following:

As of February 2017, ASAN was looking into the possibility of making the electronic visa application available directly at the ports of entry at the border with Georgia, Russia, Turkey, and Iran.
