AISECT University is a private university established by All India Society for Electronics & Computer Technology in Mendua Village in Raisen District, Madhya Pradesh, India and has a Branch in Bhopal.[1] AISECT University is recognised by University Grant Commission and the Madhya Pradesh State Government. It provides academic programmes in graduate, post graduate and research levels in Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Law, Science, Arts, Commerce, Education, Paramedical etc. .[2] AISECT Academy for Fire, Safety & Security was recently launched with the support of NAFS – National Academy of Fire & Safety Engineering [3]
Organization and administration
AISET University is managed by All India Society for Electronics & Computer Technology which is India's largest education and skill development services and e-governance network founded in 1985 with more than 12,000 centres, 11,000 entrepreneurs, 1.3 million students, 1500 banking kiosks across 27 states and in 3 union territories.[4]
AISECT received several National and International Awards for its outstanding efforts in the field of Education, Empowerment and Enterprise including Schwab Foundation’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award instituted by the World Economic Forum as well as the Ashoka Senior Fellowship for AISECT’s Chairman Mr. Santosh Choubey, the NASSCOM I.T. Innovation Award, the Manthan Award South Asia & Asia Pacific, the NASSCOM EMERGE 50 Leader Award, the Indian Innovation Award, the Golden Icon National e-Governance Award, the Asian Forum i4D Award, the World HRD Congress Award, the TiE Lumis Partners Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, the National CSI Award, the e-Gov. Award for Best ICT in Financial Inclusion and the World Education Summit Award.[5]
Campus
AISECT University is located in the outskirts of Bhopal – the city of Lakes and the Capital of Madhya Pradesh, the central state of India. The university is about 15 km away from town, in a hilly terrain with a rural back drop, built in 50 acres of lush green self contained campus, operating from wide spread 15 independent building blocks. It has all the convenience & comfort of a cosmopolitan city and also eco friendly & serene environment of rural area. AISECT University is well connected by rail, road and air: 40 km from Airport and 16 km from Railway Station[6].
Academics
AISECT University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in academic disciplines classified under different faculties including Engineering & Technology, Science, Arts, Commerce, Management, Law, Education and Paramedical. The Central Library of the AISECT University is fully digitized and consists of state-of-the-art information systems. Students can access a plethora of huge databases of traditional printed and digital materials along with 40,000 plus books, 5,000 titles and thousands of CDs, journals and reports.
