The 74th annual Venice International Film Festival is scheduled to be held from 30 August to 9 September 2017.[2] On 5 July 2017, actress Annette Bening was named as the jury president, the first female president since Catherine Deneuve in 2006.[3] Downsizing, directed by Alexander Payne, has been selected to open the festival.[4]
