452nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion (United States)

The 452nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery battalion was an all-African-American anti-aircraft artillery unit of the US Army during the Second World War. Comprising fewer than 1,000 soldiers, including support staff, it is credited with having shot down 88 German warplanes, 68 of which were fully confirmed kills and 19 partially confirmed kills.[1] This is the highest number of such kills credited to an all-African-American unit during the war and likely one of the top 3 among hundreds of other white AAA units.
